Seven Beachfield Swimming Squad
swimmers helped Medway ASA retain the Meeting International de
la Vallée de l'Aa trophy in Lumbres, St Omer, France at the
weekend (12-14 April 2013) ahead of 10 teams
from Belgium and France. In total BSS swimmers won a
fantastic 22 medals and achieved 25
PBs. Leigha Mitchell came 2nd in the overall gala points
table of the best female swimmers of the meet - just missing out on
the best swimmer trophy.

Tierney Gudgeon (14) won 3 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronzes.
BSS girls' captain Leigha Mitchell (16) won 1G, 3S &2B, Jodie Mitchell(14)
won 3S&2B, Oliver Durrant (12) won 1G,1S&1B and Stephanie King (12)
won 1G &1S. Boys' captain Josh Barber (17) and brother Luke Barber
(15) also contributed to the winning points total and scored massive PBs.
Unfortunately Ryan Pritchett (16) could not participate as he was taking
his Lifeguard Qualification at Ramsgate that
week.

23 other swimmers representing Medway ASA came from
Maidstone SC, Larkfield SC, Gravesend SC, City of Rochester SC,
Sheerness SC and Sittingbourne SC.

medals at Medway 2 on 30th March 2013 for our wonderful swimmers! Wow! Results

Norwich L1 LC Gala.

Again Matilda hits the headlines with a
33.56 LC = 32.96SC in the British Schools' Biathlon 50m Free (3rd)
followed by 2.43.47 in 200m Free at Rushmoor Royals and Hart L3 LC =
2.41.47 SC. A SE of England ASA Championship Regional Qualifying Time and a
GOLD medal! What a star!

The Bill Furniss Swim Skills
Clinic is on 15th June at Sheerness Pool. Bill is the current GB Head Coach and
Rebecca Adlington's long serving former coach. Letters/forms wiil be handed
out this week if you wish your child to attend (or if you wish to attend - for
adult swimmers). This is a great opportunity to be taught by
one of the best coaches in the world. Fill in the forms promptly please and
return to Natalie ASAP. Any unclaimed places will be offered to swimmers at other
Kent clubs shortly, so don't miss out. Details of the cost for the
day and programme/timings are in the letter.

We are pleased to announce an extra
swimming session on Saturdays from 9am to 10am for Maroon/Bronze Hat swimmers
and above at Sheerness Pool. This begins on Saturday 30th March. This brings our
swimming to 8 hours 30 mins per week at a bargain price of £8 per
week.

Head Coach, leads the BSS skills clinic at Sheerness Pool on Saturday June

Leigha Mitchell wins bronze in 100m
free at Kent Schools' Champs on Saturday 26th Jan. - 4th place medal in 100m
Fly as well! Tiz is 5th in 100m back. Steph 4th place medal as part of Rochester
Grammar's Medley Relay Team. Well done
girls.

Brandon Harris gets bronze in 50m back at
Medway 1 on Feb. 2nd. Girls' Relay team of Jodie, Daisy, Lilly and Tiz also win
bronze. Matilda 4th place medal in 100m breast and brother
Oliver also fourth in 100m IM. A

of entry. The form and money are now to be
given to Alison (not
Natalie). No late entries, after the BSS deadline given, will be
accepted. Don't forget to add on £1 to cover administration
costs. If less than 8 swimmers enter a licensed gala the cost of a
pool pass will be split amongst the entrants from now on.

Fab results at Basildon LC L1 Open on 15&16.12.12 Steph secured 3
KQTs and Josh swam an excellent 100m Free. Nearest to a medal was Steph (two fourth
places) - not easy in a gala packed with County, Regional and National swimmers.

recognises that our club is well planned and resourced and will care
